COVER PHOTOGRAPHER: BROOKE MAYO Our cover photo captures the essence of summer fun. It is one of the many images taken by photographer Brooke Mayo for her book, DIVING DOGGIES: A Celebration of Play Underwater. Brooke has artfully captured the moments that we rarely get to see – dogs enjoying the freedom of the water as they dive to the bottom of the pool or ocean in search of their toy. After studying photography at Appalachian State University and The University of Western Sydney in Australia, Brooke traveled the world to gain experience and solidify her love of photography. A series of dog portraits from her uncle piqued her interest in capturing dog moments. Now based in North Carolina, a major part of her photography business is weddings but her “Underwater Dogs” project truly captures her heart and ours.
